THE RUNDOWN

  • AAA: Colorado Springs 2, New Orleans 11
  • AA: Jacksonville 1, Chattanooga 6
  • A+: No game
  • A: Greensboro 1, Hickory 5

QUICK HITS

  • 2B/SS Justin Twine struggled on Tuesday, as the young infielder went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts in Greensboro’s loss to Hickory. Twine had hit better of late after starting the season slow, as he’d gotten on base at a .393 clip since May 21, but the infielder still strikes out quite a bit—he’s whiffed in 29% of his plate appearances so far this season, which was something foreseen by MLB.com when they slapped their 30th in the system ranking on him.
  • 3B Brian Anderson continued to pick it up in AA with a 1 for 4 performance last night. Anderson still isn’t the dominant force he showed himself to be in Jupiter as his average is only .207, but at least he’s getting on base. He’s now collected 6 hits and 6 walks in 32 PAs in Double-A for an OBP of .375.
  • RHP Austin Brice has certainly been better, but the pitcher gritted through 5 innings without his best stuff on Tuesday to pitch 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 walks in Jacksonville’s loss to Chattanooga.
