THE RUNDOWN

  • New Orleans, Round Rock
  • Biloxi 4, Jacksonville 8
  • Daytona 3, Jupiter 2
  • Asheville 5, Greensboro 2

WHO CAME THROUGH
  • SS JT Riddle had his best game of the season at the plate on Wednesday evening. Riddle smacked 4 hits in 5 trips for AA Jacksonville, scoring 3 runs and driving in 1. After starting June with 4 straight hitless games, Riddle has turned it on recently, as he has hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games.
WHO CHOKED
  • 1B Josh Naylor, in his second game back from injury, went hitless in 4 at bats for Single-A Greensboro. Naylor is now 1 for 10 since returning for injury. The Marlins’ top hitting prospect didn’t strike out once in those at bats, and is fairly tough to strike out, whiffing in just 16% of his PAs.

QUICK HITS

  • 3B Brian Anderson went 2 for 5 for AA Jacksonville last night. Since being promoted to AA, Anderson has only hit .235 but has gotten on base at an elite .380 clip.
  • 2B/SS Justin Twine went 2 for 4 for Single-A Greensboro last evening. The 20-year-old former 8th round draft pick has hit well in June, batting .326 in June.
